Ultrasound scans are a non-invasive, safe and painless procedure to your furry baby.

there are 2 types of scans I provide. The first scan can be performed from 28-35 days from the last mating to confirm pregnancy. The reason for this is that this is when a reasonable amount of calcium development has formed within the gestation sacs and will therefore provide a good chance of obtaining confirmation of pregnancy, in  these days the puppies are not to big so  this is the perfect time for counting. It is also because a canine female is unlikely to absorb puppies after this stage.

Please note that any indication in the number of puppies is an estimate. This is because gestation sacs often hide behind one another and some sacs can hide behind ribs, also it is extremely easy to count the same sacs twice.

the second scan can be performed from day 40 till birth. by this stage in the pregnancy the puppies heart is developed and the puppy will have its bone structure. In this scan I can confirm that the puppies are healthy and alive. The second scan is not necessary but recommended just to be safe.

*For breeds which are heavily coated a small amount of hair may need to be clipped away
